AFFCO is Proud to be selected as a NASA SBIR Phase I Awardee

New Windsor, NY — American Felt & Filter Company (AFFCO) has been selected as an awardee under NASA's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I program, a highly competitive federal initiative that funds early-stage research and development at small businesses with strong potential for commercialization.

The award will support AFFCO in advancing manufacturing capabilities for high-performance felt and nonwoven materials used in aerospace applications. As part of the program, AFFCO will establish a dedicated production line, refine manufacturing processes, and develop the quality and documentation systems needed to bring a new material capability to full commercial readiness — with an eye toward continued investment through NASA's SBIR Phase II program.

This award builds on AFFCO's long history as a manufacturer of specialty felt and nonwoven materials, serving customers across medical, industrial, filtration, automotive, and now aerospace.
